PHS BAND HALL FLOODS-AGAIN

The cold weather brought on misfortune. The fire sprinkler system ruptured and caused significant damage to the contents of the PHS band hall. This is the second time that the band hall has received flood damage due to frozen fire system pipes. The first time occurred in 2001. Friday Night-Early Bird Party

Approximately 700 ex-students attended. Lots of hugs and kisses took place.

Saturday-Brunch at the Home of Norman Huggins

Mar-Jo & Norman Huggins and Carolyn Huggins (Hollis) hosted brunch for the classes of 1953, 1954 and 1957. More hugs and Kisses. (See Photos)

Saturday-Lunch at the West Texas Wood Grill Steak House

The Class of “54″ invited the Class of “53″ to join them for lunch on Saturday, July 31, at the West Texas Wood Grill Steak House. Program included a review of articles published in the Plainview High Student Newspaper during the year of 1953-54. (See photos)

Saturday at 3:00 pm-Tea at the home of I.J. West

The Class of 1953 was invited to Tea at the home of I.J. Shrum (West). Scrapbooks, old annuls, tall tales and hugs and kisses were exchanged. Class picture was taken. Fun and fellowship lasted the afternoon until dinner time. (See photos)

Saturday Evening-Plainview Country Club

Buffet was served. Dancing until 9:00 pm.

Sunday August 1, 8:00 am-Memorial Breakfast at the Plainview Country Club

Emcee Rev. Jim Ritter, class of 1962, gave the welcome and memorial message. Shayla Whelon, class of 1990 gave a musical selection. Benediction was given by Jim Rives, class of 1960. Door prizes were given and goodbyes until next time were expressed. (See photos)

I thought that I would add just a few 2010 Reunion photos from Patsy Harris (Middleton). I’ll add the rest of her pictures after I work on the file size a little. Luncheon Invitation

The Class of 1954 has invited the Class of 1953 to join them for lunch Saturday, July 31, at the West Texas Wood Grill Steak House.

Lunch will be first and then a program will follow. The program will be a review of Articles published in the Plainview High Student Newspaper during the years 1953-54. One article is a spoof prophecy for each member of the Class of 1954. A section will be reserved for the 1953 Class members. If you do not want to stay for the program, that is OK.

Attached is Saturday’s class schedule and reservation information for the luncheon. Please respond promptly so we can plan accordingly.

It’s only eighteen days until the 2010 All school reunion. Time to get out the clothes that fit or you hope to fit in and get them all cleaned and pressed. For those in the 1953 and 1954 classes you can look at the 50th reunion pictures on this site to see sort of what your classmates look like. If anyone else has some pictures that you would like to post in advance of the reunion you are welcome to email them to me and I will be glad to post them. Well, from Plainview, Texas where you can see the stars at night and your girl friend from anywhere within 2o miles, goodnight.

World Cup Soccer

It’s not soccer. It’s fooootball. What ever you call it the game was a fun game to watch The way that Spain played it would have been a shame if they had lost. My relatives on my mothers side came from the Netherlands so as usual I was on the wrong side. Of course some of my relatives came from Chicago so you can’t win them all.
